The Chief Medical Officer and Health Secretary have both highlighted that smokers are at increased risk from COVID-19. Smoking harms the immune system, reducing the body’s natural protection against infections, like coronavirus. Smokers are therefore at greater risk of worse symptoms of COVID-19- therefore we are fully in support of Quit For Covid! Stoptober 2021

Stoptober is back and Live Well Stay Well are here to support you to quit smoking, breathe, move and save! It is all starting on Friday 1st October and runs for 28 days.

During October, smokers in Buckinghamshire and all throughout the country are being encouraged to take part in Stoptober. We know that if you can stop smoking for 28 days you are five times more likely to stay smoke free, and Live Well Stay Well guides smokers through a detailed step-by-step programme to help them achieve this goal. 

Live Well Stay Well are committed to helping the population of Buckinghamshire in becoming smoke free and want to make this year count! 

We offer 8 - 12 weeks of FREE behavioural support over the telephone and the option of NRT or E-Cigarettes


Thinking about stopping smoking?

No matter how long you've smoked for, quitting can help improve your health straight away. After quitting, nicotine will be out of the body within 48 hours and your ability to taste and smell will improve. After 1 year your risk of heart disease is about half compared with a person who is still smoking. Stopping smoking is the single most helpful thing you can do to improve your health and the health of the people around you.

Live Well Stay Well can also support those from age 12 to stop smoking.
