NHS Health Check

What is a Health Check?

You might be feeling great but, if you're over 40, you may be at a higher risk of developing a stroke, diabetes or cardiovascular disease.

FREE NHS Health Check can help you stay healthy and reduce these risks but spotting early warning signs.

Keep enjoying the things you love to do, with the people who are important to you by making changes now.

Coronavirus and NHS Health Checks

We take the health of Buckinghamshire residents very seriously. We want to make sure we are doing everything we can to support those who need it whilst having the safety of the public and staff at the forefront.

The Health Check is not quite the same as we once knew it. Due to the current pandemic, we have taken every possible step to ensure the safety of our clients and our staff. The NHS Health Check is now split into two halves. You will have a 15 minute physical Health Check (height, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes*) and a 15 minute telephone call with another member of the team to go through lifestyle questions as well as your results being explained. Take a look below at the great feedback we have had from an NHS Health Check client who had a Health Check with us during the Covid-19 pandemic:

'I was so please to see all the Covid safety measures that LWSW had put in place in order to protect our clients and staff whilst still being able to deliver the Health Check'

Where to get a Health Check?

We recommend getting a free NHS Health Check at your GP surgery. If you're in the 40-74 age group without a pre-existing condition, you can expect to receive a letter from your GP inviting you for a free NHS Health Check every five years.

If you are eligible for a free NHS Health Check but cannot get one at your GP, or you don’t have a GP, we can provide one for you in a convenient community location and time to suit.  Give us a call or register today to find out if you’re eligible and book in.
