Know your numbers

Blood Pressure UK are holding their 21st ‘Know Your Numbers’ week this September. The aim is to reach those in the UK who have high blood pressure and don’t know it.

Due to the pandemic there won’t be any community checks and this year the focus is on encouraging you to test your blood pressure at home. There is strong evidence that home monitoring is an effective way of taking control of your health and saving lives, without having to visit your GP or pharmacy.

High blood pressure increases your chances of a heart attack, stroke and other diseases. It doesn’t have any symptoms but if you know what your blood pressure is you can take steps to bring it under control and prevent these diseases.
