Can you do a 10 Minute Shake Up?

Being physically active is really important for not only our health but our children’s health too. It has been shown that increasing activity is important for wellbeing and development and is associated with positive health, social and academic outcomes as well.

It is recommended that children do at least 60 minutes of moderate or vigorous activity a day. However, before the pandemic, less than half of children were meeting this and in the last 15 months this has declined even further.  It has consistently been shown that during the summer holidays children’s activity levels drop compared to when they are at school. With this in mind, for the start of the summer holidays, Change 4 Life has recently teamed up with some favourite film characters and launched their latest 10 Minute Shake Ups to inspire children and families to be more active whilst also having fun.

The Change 4 Life website has lots of ideas for fun active games to play based on some of your favourite films. You can also order a free Shake Up pack which includes lots of new games that will help you and your family be more active.

If you are a health professional you can visit the Campaign Resource Centre to order and download resources to help promote these 10 Minute Shake Ups.
