10th March 2021, National No Smoking Day - Information for Referrers

‘Stopping smoking doesn’t need to be stressful’

Wednesday 10th March is National No Smoking day. The last year has been difficult for many of us. Stress and concern about our health is on the rise. For smokers this has pulled them in two directions. On the one hand, the chances of smokers successfully quitting are as high as they’ve ever been. On the other, smokers experiencing stress and mental distress are more likely to be smoking more. This No Smoking Day we want to take the opportunity to inform smokers that quitting can be less stressful than they fear and can ultimately improve their sense of wellbeing.

The Live Well Stay Well Stop Smoking Service

We deliver 8-12 weeks worth of support for our service users. We are able to provide Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) such as nicotine gum, patches or lozenges etc. or Champix, the tablet to help stop smoking. Your patient won’t be doing this alone, we have friendly advisers that they would speak to on a weekly basis who will support them through their quit attempt. They are 3 times more likely to quit with support!
